Dr. Simon Czermak - Associated Researcher

simon bw Dr. Simon Czermak is lecturer and post-doc researcher at the MCI Management Center Innsbruck. He has earned his doctorate degree in Economics at the University of Innsbruck

His primary research interests are in the area of behavioral economics, examining strategic decision making by use of applied game theory and experimental methods. His dissertation has received the “Science Award sponsored by the Tyrolean Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry” which rewards scientific work with a high level of innovation and relevance for Tyrolean SMEs. Furthermore he has published in the Journal of Economic Psychology and the European Economic Review. As a member of the SMA Research Lab, he focuses on research projects dealing with competitive behavior of individuals and teams with direct implications on the success of mergers and acquisitions.

SMA researchers attend Make Learn Conference 2013

Florian Bauer, Kurt Matzler and Daniel Degischer examined the role of organizational learning in M&A and presented their findings at the Make Learn Conference in Zadar, Croatia, last June. The ambivalent results indicate that task integration is learnable while integrating culture is not.
