Univ.-Prof. Dr. Kurt Matzler is the scientific head of the SMA Research Lab. Kurt Matzler is Professor of Strategic Management at Innsbruck University School of Management.

His primary research and teaching interests are in the fields of Innovativeness, Market Orientation, Strategy and Leadership. Kurt Matzler is author of four books and editor of more than ten books in his research fields; he has published over fifty articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Kurt Matzler is the academic director of the Executive MBA-program at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) and teaches at several MBA-Programs, the LIMAK in Linz/Austria, and the Montanuniversität Leoben/ Austria. As a partner of IMP (www.imp.at), an international consulting company with its headquarters in Innsbruck/Austria, he also serves as a consultant to companies in a wide variety of industries. SMA researchers attend Make Learn Conference 2013

Florian Bauer, Kurt Matzler and Daniel Degischer examined the role of organizational learning in M&A and presented their findings at the Make Learn Conference in Zadar, Croatia, last June. The ambivalent results indicate that task integration is learnable while integrating culture is not.
