Prof. Dr. David R. King - Associated Researcher

dave bw David R. King is Associate Professor of Management at Florida State University and Associated Researcher with the SMA research lab.

Dave holds a doctoral degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, with emphasis in strategic management, entrepreneurship and research methods; a MS from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Dayton, Ohio; and a BS in from the United States Air Force Academy. Dave has also taught at Iowa State University, Marquette University and the U.S.A.F. Academy. Dave has authored dozens of journal articles and book chapters on different topics, including: merger and acquisition integration and performance, innovation, complementary resources, government policy, and personal investing. He has received several awards for research, and his professional experience as a program manager. Dave serves on multiple editorial boards, including Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, and Long Range Planning. Dave has also served SMS as a Chair for the teaching community.

SMA researchers attend Make Learn Conference 2013

Florian Bauer, Kurt Matzler and Daniel Degischer examined the role of organizational learning in M&A and presented their findings at the Make Learn Conference in Zadar, Croatia, last June. The ambivalent results indicate that task integration is learnable while integrating culture is not.
